The documentation of a specific retail business was for the most part unplanned. Upon arriving at each of the locations, I was drawn to the energy inside. It wrapped around me tightly; I had no choice but to shoot. The energy in a bustling restaurant, shoppe or cozy little tea house is magnetic. Inside are textures, smells, colors, movement and shapes, and I felt a strong desire to make something permanent out of something which is typically fleeting and overlooked. Especially important to the works that comprise this ongoing series of images are repetitive shapes, enthusiastic people, workstations, colors, light and line.
